Bad yogart

Activia - Bad yogart

My yogurt was bad, made by Dannon, thin and gritty. The other 6-pack doesn't seem as bad, except it's a little gritty.

Pros:
  • Taste
  • Live culture
  • Stomach issues
Cons:
  • Runny
  • Gritty

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

User's recommendation: I know this is a good quality. I’m sure it’s just something that happened that will be shouldn’t have happened, but it is worth thin and greedy and I have 26 packs of them so and I eat the yogurt every morning and it’s never ever been like this, and I like it because of the cluster for your stomach so I know that it’s just something that you know maybe happen at the store since I got it. They’re gonna send me Coupons, which is very nice and I will continue to buy it.

They change the “recipe” and now it’s gross

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Others report the same issue.
  • - I used vanilla for years after key lime left; it helped bloating and regularity.
  • - The large container tasted worse.
Activia - They change the “recipe” and now it’s gross

I thought I was the only one until I searched, and there are many. I have been a faithful consumer of the vanilla for years (after they got rid of key lime, which was amazing).

I could have done their commercials; it kept away bloat, and I was so regular.

But now it's awful; it tastes spoiled. I was also finally excited to see a large container, which I always wanted, but that tasted even worse!

The new pre +pro biotics

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

  • - There were no fruit pieces in the mixed berry yogurt.
  • - The yogurt tasted artificial and syrupy, and I won't buy Activia again.

Activia - The new pre +pro biotics - Image 2

There was not even one price of fruit in mixed berry one despite its bigger size. The yogurt didnt taste good and there was an artificial taste to berry presence..

maybe a syrup like in it?I am a long time customer of regular activia. The fruits in them have been reduced greatly through out the years.

But the new one has none. This would be my last buy from them.

User's recommendation: Do not be fooled by the fruits pictures on the box

New formula tastes like wet sand

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Activia used to be smooth and fruity, not too sugary.
  • - Now the label changed, it's gritty and tastes like wet sand and I'm switching to Oikos.

Every single time I find something I like, the company either changes it or stops selling it within months. Activia is the latest example.

It used to have smooth texture and taste like fruit, without being so sugary that it destroying my diabetes. It was a great snack. Then one day I noticed that it had a new label and looked chunky. It also tasted like wet sand.

It was gritty. I thought maybe I grabbed the wrong version, as they sell a similar gross tasting, gritty, no sugar version. I went back to the store and checked. Nope.

This is the new Activia. Time to go back to Oikos.

Cons:
  • Size
  • Consistency
  • Taste

Preferred solution: A return to the old version

This is the second time they have changed it and ruined it in the last few years. Do they do any focus groups before they make these changes? I won’t be buying it any more.

We noticed the same thing - it now tastes really bad. I called the company today and was told there has been a formulation change. Time for a new brand.

Not good

The new Actvia doesn't taste the same. It is watery and tastes like sand.

I won't buy it again.

I don't know why they changed it; maybe they want to save money. Even the plastic is cheap.

Changed their formula and now it's watery, flavorless garbage.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - The formula was changed and ruined a good thing.
  • - I've eaten this yogurt since 2007 and it was one of the few tolerable foods for my autoimmune illness.

They changed their formula and ruined a good thing. I've been eating this yogurt since 2007.

I got diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and was very sick. This yogurt was one of the few things my body could handle.

I don't know why companies insist on ruining their products. Corporations only interested in profit are literally ruining the world.

User's recommendation: Buyer beware!

I 100 percent agree and also started eating this several years ago, thrilled I found a product I could tolerate with an autoimmune disease affecting my digestive system. I cannot eat the new formula and am so disappointed.

Leaving the Activia brand after company changed product

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - The yogurt is watery with less flavor and less fruit.
  • - Customer will switch to thick, creamy yogurt with more fruit.

I miss my yogurt being thick and creamy and having more fruit! The consistency is watery now, has less flavor and even less fruit. It doesn't satisfy my hunger, doesn't stick to my ribs to curb a desire to eat more of something.

I will now leave the company and their product and go off and search for a good tasting, thick and creamy yogurt with some good fruit. I'm paying for something I want to eat! Not something that a company decided to make which is cheaper for them and yet yields the profit they desire.

I'm sorry you don't care about customer satisfaction. I cared about your product when it was worth buying.

User's recommendation: Don't bother! You'll be disappointed like I am.

Vanilla changed

AI Highlights
  • - It was a staple for years, but now it has a lemon aftertaste.
  • - It's no longer a weekly must-have, and I'm very disappointed.

It was a staple for years; now it has a lemon aftertaste, taking it off my weekly must-have list. Very, very disappointed.

It was the only yogurt my taste buds could handle. I was actually forced to try it in the beginning and was so surprised. I made the leap and became a weekly buyer.

That’s over. ?

Pros:
  • Works
Cons:
  • Flavor change

Stevia added to the Pre+Pro biotics Activia yogurt

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - First taste was creamy, then my lips went numb.
  • - Stevia may trigger reactions for ragweed allergies.
  • - I'll read labels more carefully.
Original review updated Oct 21, 2025

I thought since I was disappointed in the new formula regular Activia yogurt, I'd try their Pre+Pro Biotics yogurt. The first taste was creamy, and I thought, 'Okay, this is more like it.' The second bite, my lips started to get numb.

It scared me; I turned the container around to see the ingredients: stevia! If you have an allergy to ragweed, it's likely you'll have a reaction to stevia. Knowing this, I've always avoided stevia, as the sweetener causes my lips and tongue to become numb! And most definitely my fault for not reading label first, and I absolutely will be doing that from now on, but a heads up about possibly allergens would have been safer.

SOOOO, makers of Activia, how about you label your containers with a warning that it contains stevia?

Lots of people out there with ragweed allergies! I'm completely done with this company!

Cons:
  • All

Preferred solution: A warning on packaging

User's recommendation: Checks EVERY label

New formula is awful tasting

  • - I won't be buying it anymore.

Saw and tasted that Activia had changed their packaging and formula. It tastes distinctly different, not in a good way.

If the flavor were slightly different, maybe, but this is just awful. I won't be buying it anymore.

Pros:
  • No current pros
Cons:
  • All of the current cons

Preferred solution: The old formula back again!

User's recommendation: This was my go to yogurt for years! Not anymore. I do not recommend.

New nasty yogurt recipe

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Recipe changed; tastes worse.
  • - Coupons promised by email to try a different store/plant were never received; I spend $96 monthly on 12 vanilla packs.
Updated by user Feb 24, 2026

Still awful! Switched yogurt.

Updated by user Oct 20, 2025

Dantone Activia vanilla yogurt has a new recipe and it's awful. After buying 3-6 packs and finding out the flavor and texture completely changed to a nasty recipe. Don't bother, unless you want more sugar than yogurt.

Updated by user Oct 05, 2025

Just so it's known, yogurt is the only way for my body to get the calcium it needs, hence the 12-12 pack per month. I ate it 3 times per day, every day and had for about 5 years.

Original review Oct 05, 2025
I picked up my usual 6-12 packs of yogurt that I buy every 2 weeks without knowing that they changed the recipe. It's the worst stuff I have ever tasted!

I called the company and jumped through hoops to find out what happened. I was told that they would send me coupons via email to try a different store and manufacturing plant, so I borrowed the money to get some. It's the worst stuff I have ever tasted, period. I never got the coupon online or through the mail.

Danone has now lost my business completely. That's 12-12 packages of vanilla yogurt per month, roughly $96.00 monthly!

It's supposed to be 'healthier.' What a joke! It has what tastes like more sugar than the other recipe.
Loss:
$96
Pros:
  • Old recipe was better
Cons:
  • Less creamy
  • Less nutrients
  • Awful taste

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Don't bother

New formula is trash

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Packaging changed recently.
  • - Vanilla flavor tastes off and gritty.
  • - Other flavors taste off and gritty, and they are switching to Noosa.

I saw the packaging change recently and assumed that was all that was different. I have been buying the 24-packs from Costco for years.

Well, when I tried the vanilla flavor I was grossed out. I thought maybe I had a bad sample, so I tried another one, but it had the same disgusting taste. I can't stand it and have stopped eating it. The other flavors are not as bad but still taste a bit off, and the consistency is now gritty instead of the heavenly creamy experience it used to be.

I'm going to be shifting to Noosa from now on.

I don't doubt this formula change was to save money but it's garbage. I'd rather pay more for the original formula than eat this crap for free.

Pros:
  • Delicious and healthy
Cons:
  • New formula tastes like sweetened sewer water

Preferred solution: Change the formula back to the original

User's recommendation: Avoid

Unhappy with new formula of Activia Probiotic Yogurt

Like many who commented, I am not a fan of the new formula of the Probiotic Yogurt. I'm unhappy with the consistency and the taste. I don't know why they find the need to change something that's not broken.

User's recommendation: Don't waste your money.
